As part of the national commemorations for the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, the Musée de l'Armée Invalides honors the artists and intellectuals in exile between 1939 and 1945 who dedicated their creativity to the values of freedom. The exhibition offers a geographical journey tracing various forms of exile and focuses on both the fighters of Free France and the refugees exiled outside

Europe. Visitors will notably be able to discover two emblematic places: the New York workshop of the sculptor Ossip Zadkine, a true sanctuary of creativity and resistance, and the New York

bookstore Gotham Books, which celebrated the French spirit in the midst of war.
