In the heart of Paris, the Musée de l'Homme explores the roots and future of humankind through a series of outstanding exhibitions that touch on social issues and current aff airs. The museum's new exhibition explores the

theme of human migration, a phenomenon that has spanned centuries and is part of our past, present and future. It brings together a number of academic disciplines - anthropology,

demography, archaeology, genetics, sociology, law, geography and history - to give visitors everything they need to understand migration in all its complexity on a global scale.

In its first section, the exhibition focuses on representations of migration, off ering visitors a chance to take a step back and deconstruct preconceived ideas.

The second part takes stock of current migration through personal stories, objects and works of art by migrant artists, revealing a wide variety of experiences, causes and trajectories.

Finally, the exhibition takes us back in time to discover the migrations and interbreeding that took place in prehistoric times, reminding us that, from the moment Homo sapiens emerged 300,000 years ago, the species has been constantly on the move, wending its way all over the globe. Just like for other species, for humans, there is no life without movement!

The Migration, Human Odyssey exhibition helps us to understand that we are all the product of migration, and that thousands of years of the phenomenon have shaped our present-day societies.
