At the Atelier des Lumières
Through to January 22nd, 2025
The Atelier des Lumières centre is hosting two exciting immersive exhibitions. The longer of the two plunges visitors into the heart of the Pharaonic Egypt, covering the period from the reign of Cheops to Ramses II. You will be able to explore Egypt during these great kings’ eras and go back in time via projected masterpieces from a legendary, fascinating civilisation that spanned three millennia. The exhibits introduce you to everything from the creation of Egyptian myths and gods to the construction of the pyramids via daily life in ancient Egypt, the sacred river and source of life that is the Nile, and the temples from Luxor to Abu Simbel dedicated to the gods.
Visitors will also be dazzled by a shorter exhibition that invites them to get to know the Orientalists. Western painters such as Ingres, Delacroix and Gérôme were fascinated by the mysteries of faraway, bewitchingly exotic lands, finding inspiration in their sunlight and colour. Prepare to be swept away to a whole other world!
