At the Musée national Picasso-Paris
Through to May 25th, 2025.
The Musée national Picasso-Paris presents a unique exhibition in France: "L’art “dégénéré” : le procès de l’art moderne sous le nazisme ", which revisits the violent campaign led by the Nazi regime against modern art, illustrated by the propaganda exhibition "Entartete Kunst" organized in Munich in 1937. Works by major modern artists such as Otto Dix, Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Picasso were displayed in a derogatory manner to discredit them. Through artworks confiscated at the time, this exhibition highlights the persecution suffered by these artists and the Nazi regime's attempt to eradicate artistic avant-garde movements.
