Located in the heart of the town of Péronne, a few kilometers from the battlefields of the Somme, the Historial de la Grande Guerre is the first international museum to provide a comparative perspective of the nations involved in the conflict. Discover a unique collection of objects and documents, testimonies of the daily lives of men and women, soldiers and civilians, both at the front and behind the lines. With its universal and humanistic dimension, the museum is the ideal starting point for the department’s remembrance circuit, which includes eleven sites recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Follow in the footsteps of the bloodiest battle of the Great War. The interpretation center next to the Franco-British memorial at Thiepval offers a unique visiting experience in memory of the fallen soldiers.
