Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Château de Fontainebleau is the only castle to have been inhabited by every French ruler from the 12th to the 19th century. Surrounded by 130 hectares of parkland and gardens, this huge palace houses exceptional collections that

make it one of the most richly furnished royal castles in France. From May 25th to September 21st, 2025, the castle will host the 2nd edition of the Grandeur Nature biennial following its success in 2023. The new path dedicated to contemporary sculpture involes "The Spirit of the Forest" and invites the public to wander through its park, gardens, and even beyond the gates of the Domain. More than 50 works by around forty artists challenge visitors to reflect on the functioning of an ecosystem, ecology and climate change.
